Berlin was amazing. The city's architecture is humbling and its history so fresh that is screams at you through every medium; rubble of bombed buildings, memorials, graffiti, and The Wall.
We checked out of our Hostel in Berlin yesterday morning, our bus to Prague wasn't leaving until the next morning at 6:15am. We thought we would just crash on the couches of our hostel common room until around 4am when we needed to catch our train to the bus station. But last night the hostel came alive, it was packed with young people drinking way into the early morning and we realized there was no hope for sleep on the couches. Oliver found an abandoned mattress out in the hall on the 7th floor of the hostel, we curled up on it and tried to sleep until one of the staff members doing rounds awoke us.
We were off.
The bus from Berlin to Prague took 6 hours. We arrived, got off the bus and got straight down to the business of getting lost. we finally made it to our hostel, checked into our room, and ventured out to find food and the correct currency. 16.8 Czech Koruna = about 1 us dollars; i payed for our groceries with a 1,000 Koruna bill (i felt rich).
Our knuckles are cracked from the cold, our noses chapped, our bodies tired and we love it.
lots of love
